Prepare for your PMU Appointment

REQUIREMENTS BEFORE PMU EYEBROW:

  • No Botox treatments should be done 3 weeks prior or 4 weeks after procedure

  • No chemical peels 60 days before or after procedure (brows will peel quicker due to chemicals traveling under the skin)

  • No Retinols/Retin-A or other anti-aging/acne creams, or serums containing acids as these will fade brows prematurely

  • Do not work out or sweat heavily the day of the procedure (or 2 weeks after)

  • Do not tan or have a sunburned face the day of the procedure

  • No waxing or tinting 3 days before procedure

  • Stop taking aspirin, niacin, vitamin E, fish oil, CoQ10 and ibuprofen 48 hours before procedure

  • No alcohol or caffeine 24 hrs before procedure

IMMEDIATELY AFTER SESSION: You will be provided an aftercare pack to take home and help guide you in a successful healing process. Please follow instructions and use products as needed for your 10 day healing process. Healing may vary for everyone but 10 days minimum is recommended for best results. Any questions, please reach out.

DAY AFTER TILL ABOUT 8 DAYS AFTER: You brows will darken by up to 50% until the scabbing dissipates approximately in 7 or 8 days. Don’t be alarmed, this is completely normal.

APPROXIMATELY 10 TO 14 DAYS AFTER: The color may also lighten by around day 10 which you may think they have disappeared completely or in pockets. Trust the process! Our skin has a tendency to create a clear layer of skin as it is healing and your new skin will prevent the strokes from being visible. Please be assured that as your skin cells naturally regenerate, the color will come back around the 2 weeks mark. Be patient and kind to your skin as it does its job during this important phase! This is why we ask that you come back for your touch-up around 4-6 weeks after initial session

    REQUIREMENTS BEFORE PMU LIPS:

  • Absolutely NO sun, sweating, or tanning prior to the procedure and up to 1 week after the procedure. Avoid tanning or sun exposure on your face prior to your procedure. The tan will exfoliate after a few days taking color with it as it fades.

  • Do not work-out the day of the procedure as the body heat expands the pores. It is recommended not to sweat (heavily) for the first week after the procedure. Sweat is salty and can prematurely fade the treated area.

  • DO NOT Have ANY facial treatments prior to your appointment for one month this includes : BOTOX, LASER, FILLERS, CHEMICAL PEELS, (COSMETIC SURGERIES ETC for 6 weeks prior to your appointment with us). This may result in unnecessary complications for both procedures.

  • Avoid alcohol or caffeine prior to the procedure, this will minimize any oozing or swelling after the procedure.

  • Getting a procedure while on your menstrual cycle can make the treated area hyper-sensitive.

  • You have to be off Accutane for 1 year. NO Exceptions!

  • If you have oily skin, your results WILL appear softer in appearance and may require additional procedures.

  • Dark Skin types please note that your permanent makeup will not appear as bold as lighter skin types. (Indian, African American, Filipino, etc.)

  • Do NOT take Aspirin, Niacin, Vitamin E and/or Ibuprofen unless medically necessary, 48-72 hrs prior to your procedure.  Tylenol is fine.

  • If you have a cold sore or are prone to cold sores, you will need to be taking cold sore medication prescribed by your doctor prior to the procedure.  The procedure can trigger the cold sore virus and you may experience a break-out on your lips after the procedure.  By taking the medication, you minimize your chances of a cold sore breaking out.
